No. 4 Kentucky 92, Rider 63: Freshman John Wall had 21 points and 11 assists as Kentucky dominated Rider in the Cancun Challenge yesterday in Lexington, Ky.
Patrick Patterson added 19 points and a career-high 18 rebounds for the Wildcats (4-0). The team hardly looked like the one Coach John Calipari called the "worst" defensive team he's seen in 20 years after wins against Miami (Ohio) and Sam Houston State earlier in the week.
No. 11 Butler 64, Evansville 60: Shelvin Mack scored 17 points and Gordon Hayward added 15, including a game-sealing free throw with 3.6 seconds left, to give visiting Butler a win against Evansville last night.
The Bulldogs (3-0) won their second road game of the week. Butler has now won 13 in a row over Indiana schools and 23 straight in November, dating to 2006.
Virginia Commonwealth 82, No. 17 Oklahoma 69: Jay Gavin scored 20 points, Larry Sanders 17 and Virginia Commonwealth never trailed in an upset of Oklahoma last night in Richmond, Va.
The victory spoiled the return of Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel, who used to coach the Rams.
No. 19 Georgetown 63, Savannah State 44: Jason Clark scored a career-high 14 points and four Hoyas were in double figures as visiting Georgetown rolled to a victory against overmatched Savannah State last night.
Greg Monroe added 13 points for Georgetown (3-0), Austin Freeman had 12 and Chris Wright 11 in a game that gave the Hoyas a much-needed breather after they squeaked past Temple 46-45 on Tuesday.
No. 20 Louisville 69, East Tennessee State 56: Edgar Sosa scored 13 of his 16 points in the first half and Louisville beat visiting East Tennessee State yesterday.
The Cardinals won despite shooting just 36.4 percent from the field, including just 6 of 30 from beyond the three-point line. Louisville used an 18-0 run in the first half to turn a three-point deficit into a 25-10 lead.
No. 23 Illinois 94, Presbyterian 48: Freshman D.J. Richardson scored 15 points, hitting four 3-pointers, to help Illinois overcome a sluggish start and beat Presbyterian in the Las Vegas Invitational last night in Champaign, Ill.
The Illini's offense stalled early on against the Blue Hose's tight zone defense.
Virginia 76, Oral Roberts 55: Mike Scott scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Sylven Landesberg added 14 points to lead Virginia past Oral Roberts in the final states-side game of the Cancun Challenge yesterday in Charlottesville, Va.
On Tuesday in Cancun, Mexico, Virginia (3-1) will play Stanford. Oral Roberts (2-2) will take on Sam Houston State.
Florida State 89, Mercer 50: Deividas Dulkys scored 14 points to lead Florida State past Mercer yesterday in Macon, Ga.
Dulkys shot 4 for 7 from 3-point range for the Seminoles (3-0). Chris Singleton added 14 rebounds, while Solomon Alabi, Xavier Gibson and Jordan Demercy scored 12 points each.
High Point 100, Hampden-Sydney 75: Nick Barbour scored 23 points and four other players were in double figures as High Point beat visiting Hampden-Sydney last night.
Eugene Harris had 19 points for the Panthers (2-1) David Campbell had 14 points, and David Singleton and Jourdan Morris each had 10.
Campbell 85, UNC Asheville 66: Jonathan Rodriguez scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead five Campbell players in double figures as the visiting Camels defeated UNC Asheville yesterday.

Gardner-Webb 83, Methodist 58: Josh Henley scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Gardner-Webb past Methodist last night in Boiling Springs.
