■ Lecture Series: William C. Turner Jr. will speak at 9:45 a.m. in the Dillard Auditorium at the Albert H, Anderson Center at Winston-Salem State University, 601 Martin Luther King Drive. The lecture is part of the James A. Gray Lecture Series. Tuner will speak on "The Search for 21st Century Courage."
■ Holiday Sale: The Museum Shop at Wake Forest University's Museum of Anthropology will have its annual holiday sale from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Friday, Dec. 18. Holiday decorations, toys and jewelry will be among the crafts available for shoppers.
■ Ask A Lawyer Day: Wake Forest University School of Law's Community Law and Business Clinic will have ‘"Ask A Lawyer Day" from noon to 3:30 p.m. in Suite 100A in the Wachovia Building, 8 W. Third St. Business owners can call 631-1953 to schedule an appointment, but walk-ins are welcome.

■ Vigil for Healing: A vigil for healing and remembrance of Teresa Ann Johnson will be held from 5:30 to 6 p.m. at 4425 Lane St. The vigil will be held rain or shine. Attendees are asked not to block driveways.

■ Civil War Re-Enactment: The 26th North Carolina Troops will be at Old Salem from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. performing demonstrations for the public. For more information, visit www.26nc.org.
■ Spaghetti Dinner: The Gumtree Fire and Rescue Auxiliary will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Gumtree Fire and Rescue, 2466 Gumtree Road. The dinner is $7 a person, $6 for senior citizens and $4 for children under 12 years of age.

■ Free Vendor Space: The Jonesville Historical Committee and 2011 Bicentennial Commission will sponsor a free Christmas Bazaar Show from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 at Starmount Plaza Shopping Center on NC 67 in Jonesville. Free 10x10 spaces are available for vendors. A $10 fee will be charged for spaces requiring electricity. The deadline for requesting a space is Nov. 21.
