Art Briefs: Whitespace Gallery to open sculpture show

Whitespace Gallery will open an exhibition of painted sculpture by Kathleen Spicer with a free reception from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday.
"Balance" is composed of nonrepresentational works that reference nature. Spicer says of her work: "I try to convey a sense of living positive energy. Color is key and is constantly pushed beyond what feels comfortable."
The exhibition will be on display through Jan. 8 at Whitespace in Suite 202 of Piedmont Leaf Lofts, 401 E. Fourth St.
