Temple Emanuel will present the film Fresh as part of its environmental-movie-night series at Temple Emanuel, 201 Oakwood Drive. The film features farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are challenging the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model and confronting its consequences, including food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources and obesity.
Guest speakers will be John O'Sullivan, a professor of sustainable agriculture, local and community food systems and the director of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems at NC A&T State University, and Hugh Courtney, the executive director and founder of the Josephine Porter Institute for Applied Bio-Dynamics in Woodwine, Va.
Showtime is 7 p.m. Thursday. The screening is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 642-4361.
