Art Briefs: Shoe Shrine show to end with a silent auction

A closing reception for the "Shoe Shrine" exhibition will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday at 5IVE & 40RTY gallery, 541-A N. Trade St. At the end of the evening, the works in the show will be sold by silent auction.

Proceeds will benefit the Kelly Jo Petersen Scholarship at the UNC School of the Arts School of Design and Production.

Kelly Jo Petersen-Womble was a noted local arts activist and artist who died early this year.
