■ Veterans Brunch:The Piedmont Club will hold a Veterans Day celebration in conjunction with Sunday Brunch on the 19th Floor of the BB&T Building, 200 W. Second Street. ■ Emergency Management Meeting: The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Office of Emergency Management will hold a public meeting from 10 a.m. to noon at the Forsyth County Public Library Central Branch Auditorium, 660 W. ■ Fall Provider Fair: CenterPoint will hold its second annual Fall Provider Fair from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gateway YWCA, 1300 S. Main Street. The event is free.

■ Veterans Day Ceremony: Appalachian State University will hold a Veterans Day ceremony at 7:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial on the west side of Dougherty Administration building. A continental breakfast will follow in the lobby. Guest speaker will be retired Army Lt. Col. Ron Branch. Branch is the former chairman of the Department of Military Science and Leadership at ASU.
■ Human Rights Seminar: Sarah Lischer will speak on her recent field research in African refugee camps at 3 p.m. in Room 204 at Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest University. Lischer is a professor of political science. She will discuss lessons the Rwandan genocide holds for the current suffering in Darfur, the Congo, Zimbabwe and war zones around the world.
