Raffaldini Vineyards invites people to create own blend

■ Raffaldini Vineyards in Ronda is inviting people to help the winery blend red wine every weekend through Dec. 6.

Sessions will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Owner Jay Raffaldini will lead a tasting of several single-varietal wines in the winery's barrel room, then invite participants to mix their own red blend. The blends will be rated by the winery, and the best blend will become Raffaldini's next Bella Misto blend.

The 2007 Bella Misto, which was blended and chosen the same way, won a gold medal at the Lodi International Wine Competition in Lodi, Calif.

The cost to attend a blending trial is $15 a person. Sessions are selling out fast, so call ahead to make a reservation at 835-9463.
