Art Briefs: Two given Arts Council awards for their volunteer work

Two awards were given out Wednesday during the annual meeting of The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
Sue Henderson won the annual Arts Council Award for "exhibiting extraordinary commitment to volunteer service and making significant contributions to the arts in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County."
Henderson is the Triad regional manager for wealth management at Wachovia.
Cheryl Lindsay won the R. Philip Hanes Jr. Young Leader Award for having "exemplified volunteer dedication and leadership and served as a model for future young (arts) leaders."
The Young Leader award is given to a person age 40 and younger.
Lindsay is the director of the human-resources project management office and diversity/inclusion at Hanesbrands.
