GREENSBORO
Some people can't catch a break.

For the second time since his death, Irving Lecin has been summoned for jury duty.

His daughter Robin Lecin received the letter in the mail Friday at her Greensboro home, which used to be her father's residence, the News & Record of Greensboro reported.

"And they spelled his name wrong," said another daughter Sue Polinsky, also of Greensboro.

Irving Lecin died in 1995, and two years later the first summons came.

Robin Lecin sent a letter and a copy of the death certificate to the courthouse.

It seems that the court will excuse Irving Lecin's inability to serve on a jury, at least. Friday's letter includes "the candidate is deceased" as a valid exemption, Polinsky said.

The sisters said they're disappointed that their first attempt to get their father off the jury rolls didn't work. They plan to go to the courthouse to find out what happened and want to make sure their father's identity hasn't been stolen.

And what would Irving Lecin think?

"My father was an old New Yorker," Polinsky said. "He would've shook his head from side to side, he would've said something about his tax money and then he would've poured himself a bourbon. ... He was a funny guy."
