RALEIGH - Nearly 14 miles of roads in Davidson County will be resurfaced using federal stimulus money, the N.C. Department of Transportation said yesterday.
Transportation Secretary Gene Conti awarded a $1.7 million contract to Larco Construction of Winston-Salem to resurface 13.6 miles of primary and secondary roads throughout the county.
The primary roads to be resurfaced include: 6.4 miles of N.C. 150 south of Tyro; 2.7 miles of N.C. 109 south of Thomasville; 1.3 miles of N.C. 62 in Thomasville.
A 1.9-mile section of Old U.S. 52 north of Welcome and a 1.4 mile section of Liberty Street in Thomasville also will be resurfaced.
