Former employee of American Children's Home charged with sexual activity with resident

A former employee of American Children's Home was charged yesterday with having sex with a female resident, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office said in a news release today.
The Davidson County Child Protective Services received a report in early May that a house parent had been having sex with female residents at American' Children's Home and that the incidents were happening off campus. The agency notified the sheriff's office, which investigated, the sheriff's office said.
Detectives found evidence that the house parent had solicited three female residents at the home and that one of the females had sex with him.
James Andrea Sampson, 40, of 196 Stephanie Drive in Welcome, was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of felony sexual activity by a custodian and three counts of solicitation to commit sexual activity with a custodian.
He is no longer an employee of the American Children's Home, the sheriff's office said.
Sampson is in the Davidson County Jail with bond set at $200,000.
