Winston-Salem man charged with abusing 14-year-old in Davidson County

A 23-year-old Winston-Salem man was arrested yesterday on charges that he sexually abused a 14-year-old girl in northern Davidson County, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
Detectives say the incidents happened between June 1 and June 30 when the girl, who is from Winston-Salem, was visiting a relative.
Yesterday, the Winston-Salem Police arrested Damian Latrael Mallett at a hotel in Winston-Salem. Davidson County sheriff's detectives transported him back to the county, where he was served with arrest warrants. Mallett is charged with two counts of attempted second-degree sex offense and four counts of indecent liberties with a child.
He is being held in the Davidson County Jail with bond set at $500,000.
