Father charged with abusing infant

A 24-year-old man was charged yesterday with physically abusing his 45-day infant, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office said today.
The sheriff's office received a report Tuesday about child abuse from the Davidson County Department of Social Services.
A baby was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center with a fractured left femur, the sheriff's office said.
Detectives investigated and charged the baby's father, Devin Lantz Sylvester of 198 Green Meadows Drive in Lexington, with felony child abuse.
He is in the Davidson County Jail with bond set at $100,000.
