As Independence Day approaches, there are plenty of chances to find some music, food and fireworks. Here is a list of fireworks displays and other festivities in the region from Thursday through Sunday:
• Fireworks display after the Winston-Salem Dash game against the Lynchburg Hillcats at Wake Forest Baseball Park in Winston-Salem. Game begins at 7 p.m., advance tickets are $5. For more information, call the Dash offices at 714-2287 or visit www.wsdash.com.
• Fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons. Admission is $5 per car and $10 per bus or motorcoach. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call the park's welcome center at 778-6300.
• A free concert at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:15 p.m. at Kernersville Elementary football field, 512 W. Mountain St., Kernersville.
• Festivities in Lewisville start at 6 p.m. at Shallowford Square with music by the Downtown Band and fireworks at dark. For more information, visit www.lewisvillenc.net.
• Free fireworks display at 7 p.m. at Rich Park, Park Drive, Mocksville. For more information, call the Davie County Parks and Recreation Department at 336-751-2325.
• Fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. at Tweetsie Railroad, 300 Tweetsie Railroad Lane, Blowing Rock. Parking is $5 per car. For more information, visit www.tweetsie.com.
• A children's parade at noon, festival in the afternoon and fireworks at dusk at Elkin Municipal Park, N.C. 268 West at Oakland Drive, Elkin.
• Live music, food, children's activities and a fireworks display, from 5 to 9:45 p.m. at Oak Hollow Festival Park, 1841 Eastchester Drive, High Point. Admission is $10 per car. • Following a performance by the 208th Army Band at 7 p.m., there will be a fireworks display at Central Park, 302 Kirby Road, King. For more information, call 336-593-8159 or visit www.stokesarts.org.
• Parade starts at 2 p.m. on Main Street, followed by a tailgate party at 5:30 p.m. and a fireworks display at dusk at Alleghany High School, 404 Trojan Avenue, Sparta.
• Free fireworks display and a parade of emergency vehicles at 8:30 p.m., downtown North Wilkesboro. For more information, visit www.downtownnorthwilkesboro.com.
• Concert, dinner, cash bar and fireworks display, starting at 6 p.m. at Westglow Resort and Spa, 2845 U.S. 221, Blowing Rock. Admission is $95 a person. For more information, call 828-295-4463 or visit www.westglowresortandspa.com.
