Clemson women down WFU

Clemson hit 8 of 11 foul shots in the final five minutes and the Tigers rallied past Wake Forest 64-60 in an ACC women's game yesterday at Joel Coliseum.

Tasha Taylor of Clemson hit two foul shots with 1:09 remaining to give the Tigers a two-point lead.

Alex Tchangoue led the Deacons with a career-high 24 points and 12 rebounds. Corinne Groves added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Clemson shut down Wake Forest's three-point shooting. The Deacons connected on three 3-point field goals.

Wake Forest held an eight-point lead late in the first half but consecutive field goals by April Park and Hardy cut the lead to 24-21 at halftime.

The game was tied nine times in the second half.

Lele Hardy led Clemson with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Wake Forest will play at home against N.C. State on Jan. 26.
