An exhibit titled "The Vietnam Experience" will open with a reception from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the Apple Gallery, 500 N. Main St. in Danbury. The exhibit of 24 paintings, watercolors and drawings by combat artists was put together by the Navy Art Collection Department.
In addition to the exhibit, the opening reception will include screenings of Two Soldiers, an Academy Award-winning short film based on a story by William Faulkner. It tells the story of two brothers pulled apart by war. The film will be shown at 2, 3:30 and 5 p.m. at the Historic Stokes County Courthouse, across from the Apple Gallery, at 501 N. Main St., Danbury.
The reception and screenings are free. The exhibit will run through March 21. For more information, call the Stokes County Arts Council at 336-593-8159.
