Q. What is actor Eric McCormack of Will & Grace doing these days? -- L.F.
A. He's co-starring in the coming drama series Trust Me, starring in the movie Alien Trespass, due out in April, and co-starring in the comedy My One and Only, with Kevin Bacon and Renee Zellweger.
Q. I think Freida Pinto from Slumdog Millionaire is so beautiful. From her name, is she Spanish? -- H.R.
A. Pinto is Indian, a resident of Mumbai, as she is in the film. She's a member of the Konkani ethnic group of Western India, a region that experienced a Portuguese immigration centuries ago, passing on religion -- she's Catholic -- culture and in some cases, names.
Q. Is it true that actor Michael Cera is holding up the Arrested Development
movie? Why would he do that? -- J.E.
A. He's not actually holding it up, but Cera -- who went on from his role as the son of Jason Bateman's character on the show to a movie career, including co-starring roles in Juno and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist -- has said that he has finished playing the role. The other cast members seem more eager to appear, so this is a situation where the producers have to resolve to go forward. He may, if other producers get their way, go into another movie version of a TV show instead: a redo of the '60s series Gilligan's Island.
Q. Can you tell me what actor Aaron Eckhart is doing next? -- P.G.
A. He stars with Jennifer Aniston and Martin Sheen in the coming romantic drama Traveling, and is preparing to shoot the sci-fi action film Battle: Los Angeles.
Q. I read somewhere that Bjork, the Icelandic singer, became an investment banker. Could that possibly be true? -- P.T.
A. That would be a real switch. Actually, Bjork has joined forces with a venture-capital company to entice investment in new companies, particularly ecologically sound ones, to help resurrect the battered Icelandic economy. But the real dollars-and-sense work will be handled by experts.
