For the past few years, we have been letting you know a little more about some of the people who died during the year -- people who lived lives that made our community richer.
This year, we are highlighting four people -- Louise H. Davis, Bob Estes, Bessie Annie Butler Johnson and Ted VanHoy.
VanHoy was the consummate fan of Wake Forest sports. In more than 50 years, he never missed a home football game.
At an age when others are retiring, Davis dived into the community, volunteering with a number of organizations that work to make the community a better place to live.
Johnson threw tea parties on a budget and grew a wildflower garden admired by many.
In his years as a newsman at WSJS radio and television, Estes became an integral part of many people's lives.
