East Surry girls 55, Mount Airy 41: Lekita Shuff scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and East Surry defeated visiting Mount Airy in a 1-A West Sectional 2 final last night.
East Surry jumped out to a 13-4 lead in the first quarter and led comfortably at halftime. Mount Airy managed to cut into the lead in the third quarter, but was unable to overcome its slow start.
Kelsey Long and Courtney Simmons added 14 and 12 points each for East Surry.
Jordan Hiatt led Mount Airy with 10 points.

Ashe County boys 70, Marshville Forest Hills 61: Daniel Waln scored 20 points, including four 3 pointers and Ashe County defeated Marshville Forest Hills in the 2-A West Sectional 1 championship game last night.
Tommy Spagnolo had 15 points and 11 blocked shots for Ashe County.
Mark Clyburn led Forest Hills with 20 points.

East Davidson girls 53, Morganton Draughn 32: Elizabeth Merritt scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds to lead visiting East Davidson past Morganton Draughn last night in the final of the 2-A West Sectional 2.
Anna Freeman added 13 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, six blocks, and three steals, and Alyssa Cutshaw had 10 points for East Davidson (30-0).
East Davidson, the defending state champion, will advance to the regionals next week in Greensboro.

Salisbury 50, Ledford 33: Shanequa Phifer scored 14 points to lead Salisbury past visiting Ledford in a 2-A West Sectional 1 final last night.
Ledford held a 6-5 lead after the first quarter, but it was all Salisbury after that. Salisbury outscored Ledford 19-6 in the second quarter.
She-Heria Shipp added 13 points for Salisbury.
Taylor Ballard led Ledford with eight points.

FHE boys 76, Orange County 55: Spencer Brown scored 21 points to lead the Forsyth Home Educators past Orange County last night in the semifinals.
Leighton Foster added 18 points and five assists, Nathan Miller added 17 points, and Wesley Richardson added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Forsyth Home Educators (17-5), which will play the Raleigh Home Educators in Greensboro tonight for the championship.
Isaac Smith led Orange County (23-5) with 17 points.
