Alleghany troupe will present Masters' Spoon River Anthology

The Alleghany Community Theatre will present the theater adaptation of Edgar Lee Masters' drama, Spoon River Anthology at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Alleghany County Library, 122 N. Main St., Sparta, and 7 p.m. Feb. 23 at the historic courthouse, intersection of U.S. highways 21 and 58, Independence, Va. The play, directed by Kate Cosner, takes place in a cemetery above the fictional town of Spoon River, where the deceased talk about their lives.

Admission is free, but donations are welcomed.
