Couple accused of sex crimes against children

FRANKLIN
A Macon County couple faces more than 30 counts each of sex crimes against children after investigators said they found explicit photos at their home.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reported Thursday that 48-year-old Stanley Rushton and 43-year-old Mary Rushton are charged with 30 counts each of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and other charges, including first-degree rape of a child.
Macon County Sheriff Robert Holland said an investigation began after his office learned of allegations made by a minor. Deputies searched the Rushton home and found a camera with photos depicting crimes against children.
Stanley Rushton is being held on a $1.2 million bond. Mary Rushton is jailed on a $1 million bond. The attorney for Mary Rushton couldn't be reached Thursday night and there was no listing available for Stanley Rushton's lawyer.
