RALEIGH -- SANS Technical Fibers LLC, a manufacturer of synthetic nylon filament and yarn, said yesterday that it will expand its plant in Stoneville.
The company said it would add 25 jobs and spend more than $2.8 million on capital investments.
The 25 new jobs will pay an average annual wage of $25,669, not including benefits.
The company is eligible for a $60,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund, which the governor can use to provide money to expanding businesses or businesses opening operations in the state.
SANS makes yarns for the high-performance, military, automotive and other markets.
SANS, based in Gastonia, is a wholly owned subsidiary of AECI Limited of South Africa. AECI has consolidated its fiber-producing operations to the Stoneville plant, which currently employs about 100 people.
