The Word Is Out open-mike poetry reading will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Forsyth County Central Library, 660 W. Fifth St. Admission is free. Those interested in poetry and the spoken word can share their own or others' works, or just listen. Caroline Lee will be the featured poet. The optional theme will be "Good versus Evil." In commemoration of the American Library Association's Banned Books Week, two activities have been scheduled for Wednesday.
Professors Andrew Ettin, Rian Bowie and John Llewellyn will take part in "Censors, Banners and Burners, Oh My!" a panel discussion on censorship from 3 to 5 p.m. at Reynolds Library on the campus of Wake Forest University. Call 758-4317.
