Grants of up to $234,600 to be shared by 4 projects

The Piedmont Triad Partnership said yesterday that it has awarded four grants in the transformation-grants category of the federal Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development program.

The combined financing awarded by the partnership for these grants could be up to $234,600.

The grants are for:

□ A program with the Center for Entrepreneurship at Winston-Salem State University that provides career information and entrepreneurial opportunities to high school-age youth and young adults.

□ An online health-care education training program at Davidson County Community College.

□ An executive leadership program at UNC Greensboro aimed at the Triad's logistics, distribution and warehousing sectors.

□ A technology mentoring program at N.C. A&T State University that will have a presence in every county in the Triad.
