MEXICO CITY -- Two Cubans are being held by Mexican police for their suspected involvement in the beheadings last month of 12 men in the Yucatan peninsula.
The Public Safety Department said in a statement yesterday said that the man and woman were arrested on a beach in Cancun. Police also raided a house, seizing an AK-47, a grenade and ammunition.
Police acted after questioning three Mexicans detained in the case last week.
