Programs for mental health given grants

The Mental Health Association in Forsyth County has been awarded two grants worth a combined $12,200.

A grant of $8,400 has been provided by the Winston-Salem Foundation from the Flynt fund. It will be used to begin a support group for eating disorders, and to expand the association's programming, and outreach and education on eating disorders.

A grant of $3,800 from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will provide programming, awareness, and suicide-prevention training. Also participating in the grant is the Piedmont Consortium for Suicide Prevention.
