Published: October 22, 2008

The Salvation Army of Winston-Salem said that BB&T Corp. has donated audio tapes, valued at $100,000, to the group as part of its educational and marketing outreach to Hispanic immigrants.

The Salvation Army is giving away the "BiBi" Spanish-language tapes during its annual Christmas service registration drive this week at Pinebrook Shopping Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The drive registers qualifying residents to receive food, clothing and toys from the Salvation Army in December.

The tapes -- which cover such topics as housing, education, health care, insurance and basic finance -- will also be distributed at the Salvation Army's Corps Community Centers, which are staffed by Spanish-speaking officers. For more information, call 723-6366.
