Thomasville Furniture buys 10 stores from Hendricks

ST. LOUIS - Furniture Brands International Inc. said yesterday that Thomasville Furniture Industries Inc. has completed the purchase of 10 retail stores from Hendricks Furniture Group.
Thomasville is gaining four Thomasville Home Furnishings stores in North Carolina -- Hickory, Jamestown, Pineville and Raleigh -- four in the Atlanta area, and one each in South Carolina and Florida.
Thomasville said it also has reached an agreement to buy six stores in the Thomasville area from Encore Enterprises. Terms of both deals were not disclosed.
When those deals are completed, Furniture Brands will have 42 company-owned Thomasville retail stores in 11 markets.
