Hanes Geo Components plans center in Butner

BUTNER - Hanes Geo Components, a supplier of environmental-construction products, plans to open a distribution center in Butner. The company, based in Winston-Salem, said that the center would supply products to construction customers in the Triangle.
Hanes Geo Components is part of the Hanes Cos. Inc., which is a division of Leggett & Platt Co. Inc. of Carthage, Mo., and is not connected to Hanesbrands Inc. Hanes Cos. has about 212 local employees.
The Geo Components division, which Hanes started in early 2005, makes nonwoven fabrics used by construction and transportation companies, landscapers and golf courses to help with erosion control and traffic safety.
