One person died after a house fire in the 400 block of West 24th Street early this morning, fire officials said.
Firefighters arrived at the house about 12:40 a.m. and by that time it was already engulfed in flames, said Battalion Chief Kevin Griffin.
The victim was found in a hallway of the one-story house, Griffin said. The victim's name has not been release but Griffin said she is a woman believed to be in her 40s.
No one else was home at the time of the fire, and there were no other injuries, Griffin said.
The house was destroyed by the fire. Investigators have not yet determined a cause.
The woman's death is the second fire fatality of the year. Last week, Sarah Pegram, 59, died in a fire at here home on Goldfloss Street. Investigators determined that fire was caused by an electrical malfunction.
