CIVIL WAR DOCUMENT SCANNING: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville, Va. A team from the Library of Virginia and the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History will evaluate and digitally scan family collections of original manuscripts from 1861 to 1865. The Virginia Commission on the Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War will make the scans available through the Library and Commission Web sites for use by students and scholars. The Danviller Museum also wants copies of the documents for use locally and regionally.
