Triad Pride will have activities throughout the weekend

Triad Pride 2008 began yesterday and will run through Sunday at venues around the Triad.
This is the second year of Triad Pride, which is sponsored by Alternative Resources of the Triad, which also sponsors outgreensboro.com and the Greensboro Out at the Movies series.
Triad Pride includes parties, concerts, shows, a Pride Festival and more. The festival, which will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, is the largest event of Triad Pride. It was attended by about 700 people last year.

Tonight
8 p.m. -- Q-Licious Pride Kickoff Party, The Q, 708 W. Market St., Greensboro.
9 p.m. -- Triad Pride Kickoff Party with DJ Tyson, Club Odyssey, 4019-A Country Club Road, Winston-Salem. With a pool tournament at 11:30 p.m.
Friday
7 p.m. -- Out at the Movies presents For the Bible Tells Me So (see Gay Briefs for more details).
8 p.m. -- Pride Party, The Q, Greensboro.
9 p.m. -- Cass Westbrook's Triad Pride Cabaret, Club Odyssey, Winston-Salem. With music by DJ Bill and a midnight show with Cass Westbrook, Bang Bang LaDesh and Paisley Parque.
9:30 p.m. -- Pride Party, Warehouse 29, 1011 Arnold St., Greensboro. With entertainment by Versage and a special appearance by Johnny Castle, Men magazine's man of the year.
Saturday
11 a.m.-3 p.m. -- Pride Festival, Festival Park, 200 N. Davie St., Greensboro. The speakers will include Goldie Wells of the Greensboro City Council and Richard Gray of Alternative Resources of the Triad. The entertainers will include Versage, the mistress of ceremonies; Tucker Wood, Mr. Triad Pride; Paisley Parque, Ms. Triad Pride; Taylor Addams, Mr. Triad Pride Emeritus; Raven Wood, Ms. Triad Pride Emeritus; Karen Favreau; and Crystal Frost.
4 p.m. until late -- Our Nite Out, Dinner with the Family. Participating restaurants in Winston-Salem include Old Fourth Street Filling Station, Sixth & Vine and Sweet Potatoes.
8 p.m. -- Triad Pride Men's Chorus, outdoor concert at the Cultural Arts Center, 200 Davie St., Greensboro.
8 p.m. -- Pride Party, The Q, Greensboro.
9:30 p.m. -- DJ Bill's Triad Pride Saturday Night Dance Party, Club Odyssey, Winston-Salem. With pedestal dancers and a 1 a.m. show with Tiffany Bonet.
9:30 p.m. -- Pride Party, Warehouse 29, Greensboro. With entertainment at 11 p.m. by Versage and Johnny Castle.
Sunday
2-4 p.m. -- Picnic in the Park, Country Park, 3905 Nathaniel Greene Drive, Greensboro. With a free picnic meal, family entertainment by DJ JukeBox Eddy and a Pride softball game.
4-8 p.m. -- Volleyball and Sunday Tea Dance, Warehouse 29, Greensboro.
9:30 p.m. -- 1-2-3 Sunday Night Dance Party, Club Odyssey, Winston-Salem.
10 p.m. -- Mr. and Ms. Triad Pride Pageant 2008, Warehouse 29, Greensboro. With entertainment by Versage, Tucker Wood, Paisley Parque and Arabia K. Addams.
