Parkland girls win State Games

GREENSBORO
The Parkland High School girls basketball team won the championship of the State Games of North Carolina this past weekend.
The Mustangs, coached by Jon Weavil, defeated South Caldwell 55-41 in the quarterfinals and Apex Middle Creek 54-38 in the semifinals to advance to yesterday's title game.
Parkland defeated High Point Andrews, its Piedmont Triad 3-A conference rival, 54-38 in the final at the Greensboro Coliseum.
