The Children's Theatre of Winston-Salem will begin its 2008-09 season with a free performance of The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. Curtain time is 4 p.m. Oct. 5 at Reynolds Auditorium. Afterward, there will be a reception.
Other productions are Madeline and the Bad Hat, a musical based on the books by Ludwig Bemelmans, on Oct. 24 and 25; Beatrix Potter's The Tailor of Gloucester, the theater's annual Christmas show, on Dec. 5 and 6; Max & Ruby, a musical based on the Nickelodeon show inspired by Rosemary Wells' characters, on Jan. 16 and 17, 2009; Fish Face, a musical based on the Kids of the Polk Street School series, on Feb. 10; Songs of the Soul, a revue of black American music in honor of Black History Month, on Feb. 26; The Great Alphabet Adventure, on March 6 and 7; The Jungle Book, a musical based on Rudyard Kipling's book, on April 17 and 18; Butterfly: Story of a Life Cycle, a musical puppet show, on April 29; and Math Quest, with music by Jack Herrick, music director of the celebrated Red Clay Ramblers, on May 15 and 16.
