Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, arguably the most memorable contestant in the history of the NBC reality show The Apprentice, will be among the speakers at a leadership conference being held in Winston-Salem next week.

Other speakers include actress Tonea Stewart, one of the stars of the popular TV series In the Heat of the Night and the movie A Time To Kill, and Teneshia Jackson, an inspirational speaker and the general manager for producer Russell Simmons' company, Russ Communications.

The Seventh Annual Leadership for Queens and Fourth Annual Kings' Konnection Conference will be held Thursday through July 20 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and at Winston-Salem State University. The conference was first created in 2002 to "enhance, support and train" young women to become campus leaders at historically black colleges and universities. Men were added in 2005.

The registration fee is $375, with group discounts available. For more information, go to www.hbcukingsandqueens.com or call 336-414-6794.

Still confused about the digital TV conversion coming in February 2009? At 7 p.m. Monday, a representative from WXII will speak at the Kernersville Public Library, 130 East Mountain St., on "DTV Answers," answering questions about the switch. The free event will be held in room 4.

William Shatner has tried his hand at science fiction (Star Trek, Tek War), courtroom drama (Boston Legal), cop shows (T.J. Hooker), Westerns (The Barbary Coast), sitcoms (a recurring role on 3rd Rock From the Sun), anthology dramas (A Twist in the Tale), reality TV (Invasion Iowa, Fast Cars and Superstars) and game shows (Show Me the Money). Soon, he will add a talk show to the list.

The Biography Channel announced Wednesday that it is beginning production on Shatner's Raw Nerve, which it describes as an "edgy and off-beat celebrity interview series, showcasing his unique sensibility, from the satirical to the serious to the sublime."

The series will debut Tuesday, Aug. 19. Guests already lined up include John Voight, Jimmy Kimmel, Judge Judy, Jenna Jameson (he seems to have a thing for the letter "J") and his old Star Trek co-star Leonard Nimoy.

Fans of the breathtaking documentary series Planet Earth may want to check out another take on our planet. Earth: The Biography, to be shown Sunday through Tuesday on the National Geographic Channel, was filmed on all seven continents and edited from more than 250 hours of high-definition footage, looking at volcanoes, glaciers, oceans and more.

Among the highlights are aerial footage and time-lapse sequences examining the history of the planet.

Though largely free of what you might call "adventure," the amiable 1952-1966 sitcom The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet made stars of not only Ozzie and Harriet Nelson, but also their sons Dave and Ricky.

They are the focus of The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet: Best of Ricky and Dave, a four-disc, 24-episode boxed set out this week from Shout! Factory. Extras include radio episodes and musical numbers by Ricky Nelson.

Also new on DVD this week are the fourth season of Stargate: Atlantis, with commentaries on every episode, features, deleted scenes and photo galleries; new seasons of the USA network mysteries Monk and Psych; and The X-Files: Revelations, with eight of the most popular episodes of the series.

This marks the fourth time that some of these X-Files episodes have been released on DVD, following the initial releases of full-season sets, which were among the first TV-to-DVD releases; the "mythology sets" that had highlights of the series; slim-cased reissues of the full-season sets minus some bonus material; and the complete series megaset released last year.
