LEXINGTON -- Four runaways from the American Children's Home broke into two businesses over the July 4th weekend, according to a news release today from the Davidson County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff David Grice said in the news release that four juveniles had broken into the TNT Smoke Shop at High Rock Landing Shopping Center and the concession stand at Whitley's Ball Field.

Deputy Bobby Welch found the front window broken out of the TNT Smoke Shop at 5:18 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office said. The four juveniles were found in the parking lot.

The Lexington Police Department and the Davidson County Sheriff's Office continued to investigate and found that the juveniles had also broken into the concession stand at Whitley's Ball Field, 3844 Highway 8 South in Lexington.

Two of the juveniles, who were older than 16, were charged with breaking and entering and larceny, damage to real property and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Deputies will seek juvenile petitions on the other two, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office did not release the name or ages of the juveniles.
