Georgia Tech 70, No. 21 Michigan State 57: Alex Montgomery scored 20 points to lead Georgia Tech to an upset of Michigan State yesterday in Atlanta.
The Yellow Jackets (6-2) overcame a 12-point deficit.
Michigan State (6-2) got to 52-50 on Brittney Thomas' layup with 5:19 remaining, but Tech pulled away down the stretch. Deja Foster converted a three-point play with 2:52 left to give the Yellow Jackets a 62-53 lead, and Montgomery later made four straight free throws to put it away.
Michigan State raced to a 14-2 lead. Tech chipped into the margin and pulled ahead for the first time on Montgomery's 3-pointer just before the buzzer for a 28-26 halftime lead.
No. 2 North Carolina 72, No. 18 Ohio State 63: Jessica Breland had 29 points and North Carolina held Ohio State scoreless for more than nine minutes of the second half last night in Columbus, Ohio.
Breland, averaging 13.5 points a game, had 21 in the opening half as the Tar Heels (9-0) opened a 41-37 lead. Cetera DeGraffenreid added 14 points and six assists and Rashanda McCants had 10 points for North Carolina, which improved to 21-9 against the Big Ten and evened its record against the Buckeyes at 3-3.
The Tar Heels sealed the outcome with a 17-0 second-half run.
Jantel Lavender had 27 points and 13 rebounds for the Buckeyes (6-2).
No. 1 Connecticut 96, Holy Cross 37: Freshman Caroline Doty scored 11 points and extended her school-record streak of made 3-pointers to 10 to lead Connecticut over Holy Cross last night in Storrs, Conn.
Doty hit all three of her attempts from behind the arc. She made six in a row in Sunday's 106-78 win over No. 6 Oklahoma.
No. 14 Auburn 95, N.C. A&T 74: Dewanna Bonner led Auburn with 26 points and 11 rebounds in a victory over N.C. A&T last night.
Auburn (8-0) led 45-42 at halftime, before outscoring the Aggies (3-3) 50-32 in the second half. Brittany Taylor-James led the Aggies with 18 points and nine rebounds. Jaleesa Sams scored 15.
No. 6 Oklahoma 69, Creighton 49: All-America center Courtney Paris had 11 points and 16 rebounds, and Oklahoma overcame a lethargic effort to beat Creighton last night in Norman, Okla.
Ashley Paris, Courtney's twin sister, added 15 points and 10 rebounds.
No. 24 Pittsburgh 66, Duquesne 47: Kate Popovec scored 15 points and didn't miss a field-goal attempt, Shavonte Zellous had 13 and Pittsburgh opened the second half with a decisive run to beat city opponent Duquesne last night.
Florida State 73, Penn State 60: Florida State forced 29 turnovers and beat Penn State last night in Tallahassee, Fla.
Jacinta Monroe had a team-high 18 points for the Seminoles.
Georgia Southern 80, High Point 69: Ashley Melson had 24 points to spark visiting Georgia Southern past High Point last night.
Freshman Shamia Brown had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead High Point.
Peace 67, Salem College 60: LeAnne Horne and Christy Freeman had 16 points each to lead visiting Peace College over Salem College last night.
Ashley Wilcox led Salem with 13 points, and Kelsey Recotr and Sarah Smith scored 12 each.
Guilford 68, Washington & Lee 66 (OT): Ann Seufer's 3-pointer with 1:10 left in overtime lifted Guilford to an ODAC win over Washington & Lee last night in Lexington, Va.
No. 10 Tennessee 87, UNC Asheville 69: Tyler Smith finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, helping Tennessee romp past UNC Asheville last night in Knoxville, Tenn.
Reid Augst and John Williams finished with 14 points apiece for UNC Asheville.
No. 3 Pittsburgh 78, Duquesne 51: Sam Young had 23 points and DeJuan Blair had 14 points and 17 rebounds to help Pitt overcome a sluggish start and beat its city rival last night.
Jermaine Dixon scored 12 points as the Panthers improved to 8-0 for the seventh consecutive season, using runs of 9-0 and 11-2 to begin pulling away after the Dukes led 20-19 with seven minutes left in the first half.
No. 14 Xavier 81, Auburn 74: B.J. Raymond had a career-high 32 points, and Xavier remained undefeated last night in Cincinnati for Sean Miller's 100th win as coach.
Frankie Sullivan scored a career-high 23 points and helped Auburn cut a 22-point deficit to 60-51 with 6:55 left in the game. Raymond blunted the comeback by making back-to-back 3-pointers, giving him a career-high seven in nine attempts.
No. 16 Syracuse 88, Cornell 78: Jonny Flynn had 24 points, Paul Harris added 21 points and nine rebounds and Syracuse rallied to its 31st straight win over visiting Cornell.
Cornell, playing its fifth straight road game, hasn't beaten Syracuse in 40 years, but staged a game fight behind a career-high 33 points from Ryan Wittman.
East Carolina 99, UNC Wilmington 85: James Legan had 26 points to lead six players in double figures for visiting East Carolina in a victory over UNC Wilmington last night.
Jamar Abrams added 18 points for the Pirates, Darrius Morrow had 16, Sam Hinnant scored 13 and Chad Wynn and Brock Young chipped in with 10 points apiece.
Sophomore Chad Tomko scored a game-high 29 points for the Seahawks. Dominique Lacy added 22 points, and Johnny Wolf finished with 19.
High Point 73, N.C. Central 64: Earnest Bridges had a team-high 21 points to lead High Point over N.C. Central last night in Durham.
Eugene Harris added 14 points and went 6 for 6 from the free-throw line for the Panthers (3-4), who shot 47.7 percent from the field (27 of 57) in the win.
Jamar Briscoe scored a game-high 26 points and went 4-for-7 on 3-pointers to lead the Eagles (0-7), who shot 33.3 percent (18 of 54).
