Several groups in the area offer dances or dance classes. Here is a list of dance-related activities coming up:
BALLROOM DANCE: 1:45-4 p.m. Dec. 4, Taylor Recreation Center, 1471 Clemmonsville Road. Lesson from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m., followed by dancing to recorded music until 4 p.m. No partner required. Free. Call 336-712-4165 or 336-650-7695.
TRUE SCHOOL THURSDAYS: 5-10 p.m. Thursdays, The Legends at Quality Inn, 2008 S. Hawthorne Road. Business networking dance party for those ages 30 and older. Live and recorded music. Admission $5 with your business card. Call 336-723-3222 or see www.mrbillsproductions.com.
LINE-DANCE CLASS: 6-7 p.m. Thursdays, Taylor Recreation Center, 1471 Clemmonsville Road. Fee: $20 for four classes. Call 336-650-7695.

CONTRA DANCING: 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Vintage Theatre, 7 Vintage Ave. Lesson at 7:30 p.m. From 8 to 10 p.m., there will be dancing to live music by McPherson Strut, with calling by Dean Snipes. No partner required. Admission $7, $5 for students. Call 336-272-3245.
