AP: Ex-Deac Rogers has spinal-cord injury

Rodney Rogers, a former Wake Forest and NBA standout, is starting rehabilitation in Atlanta for a spinal-cord injury that he sustained in an all-terrain vehicle crash in North Carolina, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.
The Shepherd Center in Atlanta said that Rogers arrived at there yesterday to start his recovery process. He was taken by air ambulance from Duke University Hospital in Durham.
The Shepherd Center specializes in rehabilitating people with spinal-cord and brain injuries.
The N.C. Highway Patrol said that Rogers was four-wheeling in the woods in rural Vance County north of Raleigh on Saturday when he fell off the vehicle. Details of his injuries have not been released.
Rogers averaged 19.3 points and 7.9 rebounds in three seasons at Wake Forest and was a second-team Associated Press All-America in 1993. He spent 12 seasons in the NBA (1993-2005) and won the league's Sixth Man Award in 2000 while playing with the Phoenix Suns.
