Mocksville, NC - For the past six years, Davie County Manager Terry Bralley has spent about 20 percent of his time on economic-development issues, in addition to running the county and lobbying for a new hospital.
Now, he'll spend all of his time on economic-development issues. Bralley announced today that he is planning to leave his post as county manager and take over the newly created position of president of the Davie County Economic Development Council.
He will be in charge of recruiting new businesses and industries to Davie County and helping existing ones expand. Bralley will start Oct. 1 and will be paid $90,000 a year. His salary as county manager is $127,557.
"I think when you're doing what you enjoy most, money is not the most important factor out there," Bralley said. "I think I can show that I can add value to the community."
Tom Fleming, the chairman of the Davie County Board of Commissioners, said commissioners will soon start looking for a new county manager. He said he would like to hire someone by the end of the year.
