Terry Bralley is leaving his job as Davie County Manager but he's not going far.
Bralley is taking a job as the president of the Davie County Economic Development Council, officials said today.
Bralley has been county manager for the past six years and has served as the chairman of the economic development council.
"The Economic Development Council has seen the need for a full-time leader for several years," Stephen L. Robertson, a Davie County business leader and member of the search committee of the council, said in a statement. "Creating jobs, assisting the growth of existing industry, and strengthening the industrial and commercial and retail tax base are top priorities for the council. Having a full-time leader will enable us to move forward on these priorities."
The Davie County Economic Development Council is a separate organization but is funded by Davie County and the towns of Mocksville and Bermuda Run. The council's current budget is $221,000.
Bralley's annual salary as president of the council will be $90,000. He will start Oct. 1. His salary as county manager is $127,557.
The county has started searching for a new manager.
