Bob Dole coming to Hickory

Former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole is coming to Hickory Thursday morning to campaign on behalf of his wife Sen. Elizabeth Dole.
Mrs. Dole is up for re-election this year. Her Democratic challenger is State Sen. Kay Hagan (D-Guilford).
Mr. Dole is planning on walking around downtown, shaking hands and meeting voters, according to a press release.
Dole's tour will start at Bank of America, move to the Tap Room restaurant, continue towards RBC and end at Dad's Place restaurant. After the tour of downtown, Dole will visit the Hickory Victory Office at 1899 Tate Blvd. SE, Suite 1105 to talk with volunteers and supporters.
