Q. Is there going to be another Mission: Impossible movie with Tom Cruise? -- J.R.
A. There may be a fourth installment of this franchise, but it's not looking likely at the moment that Cruise will be the star. Rocky relations with the studio, a series of box-office flops and Cruise's perceived decrease in star power while his salary demands remain the same are not making him popular at Paramount. Executives are said to be looking for a younger, less-expensive actor to take over.
Q. Can you tell me if that handsome actor Diego Luna has any new movies? He was in the movie
The Terminal. -- K.G.
A. Yes, the Mexican actor has two Spanish-language films due for release: Rudo y Cursi and Solo quiero caminar. Coming out in December is Milk, the film bio of slain San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk, in which he appears with Sean Penn. He is also set to star in a horror film called In the Playground.
Q. What is Christopher Walken doing next? I think he's great. -- H.R.
A. The versatile actor co-stars with Sharon Stone and Amanda Peet in the coming comedy Five Dollars a Day; with Morgan Freeman in the crime comedy The Lonely Maiden; possibly co-stars with Laura Linney, if talks work out, in the comedy Kevin Approaches; and appears with archive footage of Marlon Brando in the drama Citizen Brando.
He is also set to portray Ozzy Osbourne in The Dirt, the story of the rock band Motley Crue -- and that might be his wackiest portrayal yet.
Q. Is Jason Alexander still acting? I read that he was thinking of running for Congress. -- S.J.
A. Yes, he co-stars with Richard Gere and Joan Allen in the coming family drama Hachiko: A Dog's Story, and in the coming comedy Rock Slyde. He is also set to appear in the thriller Identity. It's not impossible, though, that he'll wind up in politics. Apparently he was recently approached by California Democrats and asked to consider running for a seat in the California state Senate, but he is not drawn to the idea, at least for the moment.
Q. I'm a longtime fan of Kris Kristofferson. Is he still acting? -- A.W.
A. He is. Kristofferson co-stars with Jessica Biel and Patrick Swayze in the coming drama Powder Blue, with Jennifer Aniston and Scarlett Johansson in the comedy He's Just Not That Into You, with Tom Skerritt in the coming horror film For Sale by Owner and, he likely will star in a drama called The Last Rites of Ransom Pride.
Q. Can you tell me if actor Orlando Bloom is making any new movies? -- A.S.
A. He is set to star with Liam Neeson in Fools Rush In, the account of author Bill Carter's years as an aid worker in Sarajevo during the Balkans War.
It is set to start shooting at the end of the year.
He also stars in the forthcoming romantic drama New York, I Love You, with a cast that includes Natalie Portman and Kevin Bacon.
