Usain Bolt of Jamaica made it look easy in winning the men's 200 meters in a time of 19.30, wiping out Michael Johnson's world record that had stood since 1996.
Soccer
The U.S. women have a chance at redemption in the gold-medal match against Brazil. The last time that the teams met -- 10 months ago and also in China -- Brazil won 4-1 in the World Cup semifinals. Game time is 9 a.m. EDT.
Softball
The United States has a rematch with Japan for the gold medal in what will be the last Olympics softball game until at least 2016. The sport has been dropped for the 2012 London Olympics. Game time is 6:30 a.m. EDT.
Basketball
The U.S. women will take on Russia, a team led by American Becky Hammon, in the semifinals at 8 a.m. EDT. Hammon is eligible for the Russian team because she became a naturalized citizen while playing in a Russian pro league.
