Texas engineering company to hire 100 in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE - A Texas engineering and construction company said Friday that it plans to hire 100 employees for its Charlotte office in the next six months.

Fluor Corp. is adding the engineering jobs because of an increase in power-plant projects. The company opened its Charlotte office in 2006, and now has 180 employees.

Fluor has 73,000 square feet of office space in Charlotte. A spokesman said that it will continue adding jobs because of a skilled work force and the area's quality of life.
