■ The Forsyth County Tourism Development Authority will have its monthly meeting at 8 a.m. Tuesday in the clubhouse at Tanglewood Park, 4061 Clemmons Road. A daylong retreat is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

■ The Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership will have its next meeting for its Downtown 101 series from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at 305 W. Fourth St, Suite 2E. This seminar is directed at those interested in starting a business downtown or learning more about the downtown market. The seminar is free and open to the public. ■ The Office of Continuing Studies at N.C. A&T State University and the Central N.C. Section of the American Society for Quality are sponsoring a Six Sigma certificate-program. An information session will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 25 at Comfort Inn, 7619 Thorndike Road, Greensboro. The program is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at the university. ■The Piedmont Triad Enterpreneurial Network will have Capital Connects!, an annual meeeting aimed at matching match-accredited investors, angel funds and venture funds with growth companies raising private equity for startup or expansion. The meeting will be Aug. 28 at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Greensboro. Ten companies will be selected to present their business plans to a group of more than 50 accredited investors. To be considered, companies must submit a one-page executive summary to Tracy Dellinger at tdellinger@pten.org by Monday. Accredited investors who want to attend should register at www.pten.org.

■ eWomen Network will have its accelerated-networking luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Speedway Club, 5555 Concord Parkway in Concord.
