Organizers of the Carolina Summer Music Festival have announced narrators for the festival's "Carolina Scrapbook" family concerts.
Neill McNeill, a news anchor for WGHP, will be the narrator for Saturday's performance, and Austin Caviness, a meteorologist for WXII, will be the narrator Aug. 30. Both "Scrapbook" concerts will begin at 11 a.m. in Gray Auditorium at Old Salem Visitors Center. Admission is $5; see www.carolinasummermusicfestival.org or call 336-682-8524.
"Carolina Scrapbook" is described as "a multimedia musical journey through the history of North Carolina." As images of the Tarheel state are projected, a festival brass ensemble will perform. The narrator will engage the audience in a quiz called "North Carolina, Land of Firsts."
The festival began Thursday and will run through Aug. 31. Diverse offerings are in store, from a "Rhapsody in Blue" concert today at Reynolda House to a "Festival Finale" Aug. 31 in Gray Auditorium, which will include Beethoven's famed Septet in E-flat Major.
