Bib's Downtown is branching out.
Owners Ricky Seamon, Mark Little and Robert Moreau will rent the rest of the 10,000-square-foot building that houses their popular restaurant at the corner of West Fifth and Spring streets.
Seamon said that they want to enlarge their kitchen to help expand their catering business and add a separate area for activities such as private parties.
"There'll be a balcony area, and we will be able to seat quite a few people and do anything special we want to," he said.
J.McLaughlin to open shop in Reynolda Village
Reynolda Village is getting a J.McLaughlin store.
The 694-square-foot shop will open April 1 in the old smokehouse in Reynolda Village.
"Winston-Salem's vibrant, charming and historic community felt like the perfect fit for us," Kevin McLaughlin, a co-founder and the creative director for J.McLaughlin, said in a press release.
J.McLaughlin was founded in 1977 by brothers Jay and Kevin McLaughlin. The company is based in Brooklyn, N.Y., and has 41 stores.
J.McLaughlin offers classic clothing and accessories for women and men. Items include dresses, handbags, swim trunks, sport shirts and Catalina print tees. The retailer is known for its bold colors and prints.
Hampton Inn at Bermuda Run to have waterslides
The Hampton Inn-Bermuda Run/Advance at 196 N.C. 801 N. is scheduled to open by May.
The 86-room inn, which is beside Saratoga Steakhouse, is owned by Liberty Hospitality Partners LLC in Montoursville, Pa. Mark E. Meloy is the general manager.
Features include two giant, indoor, tube waterslides that are each 125 feet, an exercise room, two meeting rooms, an indoor pool, a whirlpool spa and complimentary breakfast.
Barnhill's, book-and-gifts retailer, to open downtown
Barnhill's is expected to open Thursday near Hello Betty, near the corner of Burke and Fourth streets.
Barnhill's sells new books, local art and gift items such as jewelry and baskets. The store also sells wines from a variety of local vineyards and wineries, including Sanders Ridge, Grassy Creek and RagApple Lassie.
The managing owners are Tracy Beltran and Thais Black, both of Winston-Salem.
Yard-sale, antiques store opens near UNCSA
The Yard Sale Store & Antiques has opened at 1415 South Main St., across from the Gateway YWCA, near UNC School of the Arts.
Owner Jim Miller said that he sells all types of general, household merchandise typically sold at yard sales. Items include furniture, washers, dryers, refrigerators, bedroom sets, mixers and dishes.
The store also offers new dance wear. "We sell a little bit of everything," Miller said.
