Miss Annie's to close, reopen as Thai restaurant in April

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Miss Annie's, a Caribbean restaurant at 3064 Healy Drive in Healy Plaza shopping center, will close Wednesday after its dinner service. In April, it will open under new ownership as a Thai restaurant.

The restaurant is being sold to Vandy Hong, the owner of Thai Sawatdee, 2281 Cloverdale Ave. in Cloverdale Shopping Center.

Chef Jean Spence Eubank started Miss Annie's in 2003 with her sister Jasmine Spence. She said she decided to sell because she is ready for a new challenge, and is considering some catering and private-chef work.

The new restaurant also will be called Thai Sawatdee, but will be a sit-down restaurant. The current Thai Sawatdee, operating inside a Harris Teeter supermarket, is primarily a takeout restaurant. It will remain open.
