• The Winston-Salem Dash has promoted Gerri Brommer to vice president of sponsor services and has hired Brandon Cathey as the director of sponsorship services. Brommer was the director of sponsorship services for the Dash. Cathey was a sales communications and promotions manager and a brand manager for The Topps Co. in New York.

G. Mattern "Matt" York has joined Wall Esleeck Babcock LLP in Winston-Salem as a partner. His practice is focused on commercial real estate. Prior to joining Wall Esleeck Babcock, York owned and operated a boutique commercial real-estate firm with offices in Winston-Salem and Raleigh.

• BB&T Wealth said that David R. Lundquist, a personal trust specialist, will now handle select trust relationships in Winston-Salem for BB&T's Triad Wealth Management team in addition to in the Greensboro market. Lundquist joined the bank in October 2009. He is based in Winston-Salem and also works in Greensboro.

• Piedmont Advantage Credit Union in Winston-Salem recently hired Steve Nannicelli as its regional director for Mecklenburg and Iredell counties. Nannicelli has more than 15 years experience in business development and marketing in both the credit union and for-profit sectors. Nannicelli was a membership development manager for Local Government Federal Credit Union at its Charlotte Regional Marketing Office before joining Piedmont Advantage.

Debbie's Staffing Services Inc. will move its clerical and professional division Monday into the same office building with Debbie's corporate office and industrial division at 4431 N. Cherry St. in Winston-Salem. The company specializes in light industrial, clerical, professional and IT placements and provides a variety of services, including payroll, on-site management, and flexible hiring options.

Dean Vavra received the Leonard Heise Award from the Eye Bank Association of America. Vavra is the executive director of The North Carolina Eye Bank in Winston-Salem. The Heise award is given to nonmedical lay people within the eye bank community.

Frank Hall, a 203-bed residence hall at Appalachian State University in Boone, has been awarded LEED gold certification based on criteria established by the U.S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, is the nation's pre-eminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. Frank Hall is the university's first LEED certified building.

• The Wyndham Championship recently retained WilsonMcGuire Creative in Winston-Salem as its agency of record. The firm is responsible for newspaper, magazine, Internet and billboard advertising, sponsorship materials and other collateral information.

Timothy Forsyth, the chairman of the Department of Accounting in Appalachian State University's Walker College of Business, has been chosen to receive the Kenneth E. Peacock Endowed Accounting Professorship. Forsyth has been a member of the accounting faculty since 1989.
